Collings Foundation B-24J

On Easter Sunday, April 16, 2006, the Collings Foundation aircraft visited the Phoenix metropolitan area. With the permission of Rob Collings, the following pictures were taken of their B-24 called "Witchcraft"; named after the B-24 that flew with the 467th Bomb Group and completed 130 missions, flying 108 without an abort.  "Witchcraft" is the only B-24J flying (to the best of the webmaster's knowledge).

The Commerative Air Force has an LB-30 flying under the name of "Diamond 'Lil".  She was the 18th Liberator off the Consolidated assembly line in San Diego and was to be delivered to the British as a Liberator I. Although technically a B-24, 'Lil was never fitted with bomb racks.  Her bomb bay was sealed and she was destined to be a VIP transport.
