First swept wing jet fighter - carried 4 30mm cannon and was 100 mph faster than any allied fighter. Fortunately, it arrived too late in the war to have made a major impact in the Allied bombing campaign. Had it gone into production as a fighter when first developed, the 262 could have made daylight bombing an impossibility.
